Inspiration: sometimes I feel like a person broken between two dimensions of reality.

I have just seen your drawing and I really like it.
First, what I like is that the line that divides the drawing in two parts is not totally vertical. I think it conveys a more dynamic aspect to the whole.
I also like that the warrior part of the girl is represented with mixed outfit styles (warrior-like, elegant, even sweet and harmless (the hair)).
This makes the drawing a lot more complex : the character seems more than simply ambivalent. Actually, to be honest, I'm not exactly sure how to understand it exactly.
I like the fact that you managed to keep good proportion even with such different clothing on the two parts.
The folding of the clothing is well done. Maybe the left shoulder is a bit to "square" though. There is something a bit strange in the right part of the neck : the collar is a bit hidden by the red line and it is a bit difficult to understand. At first, I thought there was a wound here.
The movement of the hair on the left side (of the viewer) doesn't seem too natural.
Looking at it more carefully, I wonder if the left side of the head would better have belonged to the right side of the character : more wild, less steady.
I really like the circle on the background.
Overall, I think is a really nice drawing and really enjoyed looking at it.

I'm from the ProjectComment group, and seeing that you haven't gotten the critique that you so deserve, I figured I should probably make the first attempt.

Firstly, I want to say what actually drew me to your artwork was the two broken lines between the character. The use of the red strokes dividing the girl served well in guiding my eyes to the emphasis, which is at her face and where she has placed the intricate sword at her neck side. Including a sword in this piece, I feel, was a great idea, as a sword fits the concept of your theme here; a sword breaks and divides things. In this case, she is broken in half, and this brings me to the other concept of time. The combination of the circular background element and the red strokes creates the illusion of a clock. With all of that said, I want to say that I feel that this particular artwork is very unique, very original. Originality is something I enjoy to see in one's artwork, especially when it involves anything related to otherworldly concepts. I can say with the utmost honesty that I intently searched in the Project Comment's galleries for an artwork that would speak to me, and BAM!, here it was. Using am open mind, I couldn't agree more with you on how you feel. I think a lot of us feel this way in life: divided by time, by society, by the ideas of ourselves, and more. Of course, I do think everyone will interpret your message differently according to how one perceives their own life. I choose to see it a majestic way. Something beyond this world and human understanding, yet I sense something so painful. I gather this from the red, which I feel would represent blood, time, and energy. I like how the elements you have used--the sword; the difference in the style of clothing and hair; the cracked, broken circle; the jagged red strokes; one closed eye and the other opened---coincide with the idea you have chosen to portray to your fellow views. So, kudos to you for that. ^_^ To add on, I get the feeling that the one closed and opened eye represents  split between this world and the dream world.

And, let us proceed now onward to the drawing techniques. :D What I love about your character is the detail in clothing. Your lines are very clean, almost like you knew exactly what you were drawing with a determined mind to relay that message. (I only say this because my own art is pretty messy, lol, likely due to not knowing what I'm drawing at times.) The anatomy is amazing. I love the elegance in the shape of her body. The sharpness of her shoulder, and that corset! The collar and the buckle. All of it is very detailed. Not only that, but the balance of the overall artwork leaves me speechless. I feel like the amount of negative and positive space allows my eyes to swim smoothly around the artwork. I don't have a better word than "swim," it seems. xD Perhaps, it is the background circle that pushes me to have that sort of eye movement, as it is only natural to look at the roundness of a clock and move eyes in clockwise motion.

As with every critique, we must all be prepared for the things we don't want to hear, but I feel they may help play a major role in our future artistic endeavors. I greatly feel what could have helped add more emphasis to your artwork is a border. Maybe, a decorative oval or circular border. Something like this:… think it would have enhanced the overall look, as well as the theme. ^O^ Besides that, the only thing I feel needs a little work is the weight of your pen strokes. They are a bit imbalanced, or rather thinner, in the lower regions of the character. Other than all of that, I think you did an awesome job and are on the path to greatness if you continue to strive with all of your best.

Anyhow, I'd like to thank you for having me. Keep up the good work! <(^.^<)
